Ice Cream Dress in Woodland Clearing Fabric from Oliver&S

El Ice Cream Dress de Oliver+s lo tengo en mi lista de "must do now pero now, now!" desde hace mucho! como 4 ó 5 años.... Ya era hora digo yo.

La tela que he usado es de la colección Woodland Clearing, una colección diseñada por Liels Gibson (creadora de oliver+s) para Robert Kaufman
Es una colección super bonita y con un tacto tan suave que las hace perfectas para muchos proyectos.

Esta tela me tiene enamorada, se llama Ivory  y fue un regalo de la propia Liels, en esta entrada lo cuento, y cada vez que lo pienso, me emociono. Muchas gracias otra vez Liels!

Como el patrón del Ice Cream se presta a usar dos telas diferentes lo he combinado con un lino en tono rosado que no es 100% lino por lo que no se arruga tanto.

The Ice Cream Dress de Oliver+s has been on my “must do asap list” for a long time, at least 4 or 5 years……… it was time to do it.

The fabric I used was from the  Woodland Clearing collection by  Liels Gibson (creator of oliver+s) for Robert Kaufman.

It is a really beautiful fabric  collection and with a smooth-to-the-touch feel that makes it perfect for all kinds of projects.

I love this fabric,  it's called Ivory and was a present from Liels, I talk about it here,  and I get excited just thinking about it. Thank you very much again Liels!

Since the Ice Cream pattern lends itself to the use two different fabrics I have combined it with a  pink linen, very cute, and is not 100% linen so does not wrinkle too much.

He hecho el modelo A pero con un cambio, he sustituido la parte de abajo por un volante. No estaba muy segura si quedaría bien pero una vez hecho tengo que decir que me gusta mucho el resultado.

I made the view A, but with one change. I substituted the bottom part with a frill. I wasn’t sure how it would end up but now that it is done I must say that I really like the result.

Los bolsillos llevan forro y entretela para hacerlos más resistentes ya que mi hija ve un bolsillo y se emociona metiendo de cosas.

The pockets have a lining and interfacing to strengthen them since when my daughter sees pockets she cannot resist filling them with things.

Es bastante sencillo de coser, los patrones de Oliver+s quedan siempre perfectos ya que el patrón es perfecto. Quizás los bolsillos es la parte que más trabajo da aunque si eres principiantes lo puedes hacer sin ellos que también queda muy chulo.

Las instrucciones son muy claras aunque en inglés pero los dibujos que acompañan las explicaciones ayudan mucho.

Yo me compliqué un poco más con volante pero creo que ha merecido la pena.

It’s quite simple to sew - the patterns from Oliver+s always work perfectly, as does this one. Possibly the pockets are the part that involve the most work but if you are a beginner you can always make the dress without pockets and the result is still very pretty.

The instructions are in English but very clear and the pictures which accompany the instructions are very helpful.

I complicated the work a bit, with the frill, but I think it was worth it.
